Khazar University was represented at the "ADEX 2026" 6th Azerbaijan International Defense Exhibition with two engineering projects developed by students — a Robot Tank and an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV Drone).
The university told AZERTAC that the projects presented at the exhibition reflect students' practical application of the theoretical knowledge they gained in the fields of electrical-electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science, as well as their technical creativity and teamwork skills.
The Robot Tank is a remotely controlled unmanned ground robotic platform designed for reconnaissance, observation, and support purposes in various tactical missions. The device provides remote observation and mobility capabilities in dangerous and hard-to-access terrain. Its camera system enables real-time image transmission, while its modular construction allows for the integration of various payloads. The platform is intended for use in mountainous, off-road, and urban environments.
The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV Drone) is an unmanned flying platform designed for aerial reconnaissance, observation, search, monitoring, and research purposes. The device enables the collection of aerial data and real-time observation from difficult and inaccessible areas. Its modular structure allows for the integration of various cameras, sensors, and equipment, while its future development potential includes the application of artificial intelligence and autonomous control systems.
Among the key advantages of both projects are remote control, real-time data transmission, the ability to operate in difficult terrain, modular construction, and multi-purpose application capabilities. The joint presentation of the aerial and ground platforms showcased the university students' practical work in the fields of robotics, electronics, mechanics, and computer technologies.
Thus, continuing on its path under the motto of constant innovation and excellence, Khazar University's researchers will continue to value cooperation with the defense industry as an important opportunity and will keep working toward it.
The project team includes fourth-year electrical-electronics engineering students Tural Shaban, Vasif Ahmadov, and Elshan Jabbarov, fourth-year mechanical engineering student Humayra Askarova, and second-year computer science student Nihat Majidov, with Muhammad Alizade serving as the project's supervisor and mentor.
