Khaliq Zeynalli, a graduate of Lankaran City Secondary School No. 8, scored 617 points on the admission exams. Despite achieving such a high result, his choice of specialty has drawn attention. Khaliq chose the English-medium Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Khazar University. This year, the admission threshold for the veterinary specialty was 373 points. Khaliq's score of 617 is far above that threshold. In an interview with AZERTAC, Khaliq Zeynalli spoke about his interest in veterinary medicine, the reasons behind his choice of specialty, and his future plans.
"I had already familiarized with the environment created at Khazar University beforehand — both by visiting the university in person and through online resources. Taking this information into account, I decided to study veterinary medicine at Khazar University. After coming here, by seeing the classrooms, the teaching process, and the faculty up close, I became even more convinced that my decision was correct. Our university has extensive cooperative ties with both local and international companies. Here, equipment and devices that meet international standards — and are even rare in the country — are used. International events are also regularly organized at our university. Taking all of this into account, I consider Khazar University to be a highly promising institution of higher education.
Almost all children have an interest in animals. However, directing this interest properly and choosing the right specialty while taking all factors into account is one of the main issues facing young people. This is because we must think through every aspect carefully when choosing the field we will work in for the rest of our lives.
My own interest in animals was one of the main factors behind my choice of this specialty. Afterward, taking into account the broad opportunities our state has created for the development of this field, I decided to pursue an education in veterinary medicine. Since I will be engaged in work that I love, I believe I will achieve success in this field more quickly.
I mainly want to specialize in the field of agriculture. At the same time, I have a particular interest in exotic animal species and plan to study them in the future. Although my primary professional activity will be in the field of agriculture, in the future I would also like to engage in research activity, particularly researching exotic animal species."
