A selection of essays by George Orwell, the renowned English writer and essayist — particularly his essays on the subject of war — has been presented to readers in Azerbaijani for the first time.
The translator of the publication is Khanim Jafarli, lecturer at Khazar University's Department of English Language and Literature, and the scientific editor is Yegzar Jafarli, PhD in Philology and lecturer at the university's Department of Languages and Literatures.
The book was printed at the "VIPpoligraf" printing house.
George Orwell's essays, alongside his literary work, hold special significance for understanding his socio-political views, his attitude toward the important events of his time, and his thoughts on literature.
The first-time presentation of the publication to readers in Azerbaijani is a contribution to the wider recognition of Orwell's essayistic legacy in our country and to bringing important examples of world literature into our native language.
