The workshop brought together national focal points of member states within the European region, with the aim of promoting the application of international standards in the field of animal welfare, facilitating the exchange of experience, and strengthening regional cooperation. Within the framework of the event, extensive discussions were held on the role of animal welfare as an integral component of the One Health approach, the One Welfare concept, veterinary ethics, human-animal relations, the protection of animal welfare in natural disasters and emergency situations, stakeholder engagement, and the application of WOAH standards in national legislation.
It is envisaged that the new knowledge and experience gained within the training program will be applied in the academic programs, scientific activities, and future projects of the Hasvet Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Khazar University, and will also contribute to the further strengthening of institutional capacity in the field of animal welfare in our country.
