The Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy at Khazar University, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, delivered a lecture to students of the university on May 26, 2026, organized by İzmir Katip Çelebi University, on the topic “Azerbaijani Nationalism in the Post-Conflict Era.”

Assoc. Prof. Valiyev first provided information on the concept of nationalism and theoretical approaches to it, and then commented on the historical development of Azerbaijani nationalism based on the ideas of Mirza Fatali Akhundzade, Ali bey Huseynzade, and Mahammad Amin Rasulzade. At the same time, he specifically noted the decisive role of the Karabakh wars in this process and the political significance of the Washington Declaration in the post-conflict period.
