Khazar University founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli participated in the "Samad Vurgun – 120" panel as part of the "6th Turkic World Literature and Book Festival," held from May 22 to 26, 2026.
The festival, hosted by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, was organized at a high level in the open air at ANAS Park. On the second day of the festival, May 23, at a panel dedicated to the 120th anniversary of People's Poet Samad Vurgun — moderated by Aygun Baghirli, Scientific Secretary of the Nizami Ganjavi Institute of Literature and Associate Professor, PhD in Philology — Prof. Acad. Hamlet Isakhanli delivered a paper titled "In Search of Samad Vurgun and His Black Hero." The panel was opened with introductory remarks by Doctor of Philological Sciences, Prof. Gazanfar Pashayev, who spoke about Vurgun's work before giving the floor to Hamlet Isakhanli. Isakhanli's paper was met with great interest by the audience. The accompanying presentation featured 6 previously unknown photographs of the People's Poet. Faculty members and students from Khazar University also attended the event.
