On May 12, 2026, the III Turkish World Young Academics International Conference on the theme "Heritage of the Past, Building the Future" was held, organized by the Department of History and Archaeology of Khazar University, with the support of the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) and the Yunus Emre Institute, as well as the Young Academics Association. The conference brought together scholars, government representatives, and members of academic circles from various countries of the Turkic world. Within the framework of the multidisciplinary conference, panels and sessions were organized and extensive discussions were held in the fields of history, archaeology, law, education, international relations, social and humanities, as well as scientific and technological development. These multidisciplinary discussions, spanning a wide range of fields, make a significant contribution to the formation of a common academic thought in the Turkic world, the expansion of academic cooperation, and the development of future joint projects.
Prominent scholars, rectors, government officials, and public figures representing Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and other Turkic states alongside Azerbaijan took the floor. One of the main objectives of the conference is to strengthen a common academic platform among Turkic states, to develop scholarly ties among young academics, and to foster a collaborative environment serving the common future of the Turkic world. In this regard, the event is regarded not merely as a platform for academic discussion, but also as a significant international academic gathering demonstrating the unity and solidarity of the Turkic world.
