Khazar University Rector Dr. Razia Isaeva visited Akdeniz University in Türkiye from March 23 to 31, 2026, within the framework of the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility program.
On the first day of the visit, Rector Isaeva met with Prof. Dr. Hilmi Demirkaya, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Akdeniz University, and faculty staff. During the meeting, detailed information was shared regarding the university's activities, and potential areas of collaboration and joint projects between the two parties were discussed.
Rector Isaeva also visited the International Relations Office of Akdeniz University, where an exchange of views took place on academic mobility, joint research projects, and international cooperation prospects. Both parties emphasized their interest in further expanding collaboration in the future.
The meeting with Akdeniz University Rector Prof. Dr. Özlenen Özkan was of particular significance. The discussions focused on future academic cooperation opportunities between the two universities, the organization of joint programs, collaboration in the field of scientific research, and student-faculty exchange. Parties expressed intention to establish a strong and sustainable partnership between the institutions.
Within the framework of the program, Rector Isaeva conducted a seminar dedicated to her research on the Azerbaijani higher education system and student engagement. The seminar was attended by faculty members, as well as undergraduate and graduate students of Akdeniz University.
A meeting was also held at the Faculty of Tourism of Akdeniz University regarding the expansion of institutional cooperation — one of the key directions of the visit — including the development of staff and student exchange programs, and negotiations were conducted on the establishment of dual degree programs in the tourism and education.
It was noted that the meetings and events held during the visit will make a significant contribution to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two universities and to building long-term cooperative ties.
