An interactive in-person training session on the topic "Invalidity and Annulment of Contracts: Theory and Practice" was held on January 10, 2026, organized by the Bar Association Training Center.
Doctor of Legal Sciences, Professor Amir Aliyev delivered the opening remarks at the training session, addressing issues related to the relevance of the training topic.
The trainer—member of the Bar Association, member of the Attorneys' Specialization Commission, attorney at Baku City Attorney's Office No. 6, and Senior Lecturer at Khazar University—Akif Alizade's newly published textbook titled "Protection of Family Rights" was announced. It was noted that this textbook is a significant resource that systematically explains the social, legal, and economic protection rights of the family as stipulated in national and international legislation, establishes proper understanding of mechanisms for effective use and protection of these rights, and serves to enhance legal awareness and strengthen the institution of family.
Additionally, the scientific-practical legal journal "Azerbaijani Attorney" was presented to participants, and the scientific significance of the journal was brought to their attention.
In the main part of the training session, Akif Alizade delivered an extensive presentation on the theoretical foundations of the concept of contract invalidity, legal consequences of invalid contracts, rights and obligations of parties during contract annulment, mechanisms for resolving contractual disputes in court practice, and other related issues.
The trainer shared his experience with attorneys regarding cases he encountered in existing court practice on the subject.
At the end of the training session, numerous questions were discussed jointly.
