On December 17, 2025, a seminar on "Development and Application of Unstructured Coarse Gridding and Upscaling of Well Simulation Models" was held, organized by the Graduate School of Science, Art and Technology and the Department of Petroleum Engineering.
Doctoral student Turgut Ahmadov is pursuing doctoral studies in "Petroleum and Gas Engineering" at Texas A&M University (Agricultural and Mechanical) located in the state of Texas, United States of America, based on a tripartite agreement with the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Khazar University within the framework of the "State Program on Increasing the International Competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023."
During the scientific seminar, doctoral student Turgut presented research results on unstructured gridding and flow-based upscaling methods for geological and reservoir models. The research particularly examined near-wellbore flow behavior and its impact on modeling.
