Scholars from the State Language Development Institute of Kazakhstan visited the Institute of Cultural Anthropology and Folklore of Khazar University (Khazar ICAF) on November 23-26, 2025. The scholarly visit represents a significant milestone in the process of preparing a major project of paramount importance for the Turkic world - the initial etymological dictionary. The project is valued as a common scientific asset of the Turkic world.
Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Director of the State Language Development Institute Kapalbek Bizomart Seysenbekuly shared his extensive experience as an author of school curricula and textbooks on the Kazakh language. Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, Associate Professor and sociolinguist Abasilov Aman Madelkhanuly further enhanced the scientific value of the project with his social linguistics research. Doctor of Philosophy in Philology, onomastics specialist Biyarov Berdibek Nuraldauly added scientific depth to the content of the dictionary with his knowledge on the etymology of names and toponyms.
The organization and coordination of the visit was carried out by Aynur Gazanfargizi, coordinator of Khazar ICAF. During the meeting, the methodological framework for preparing the etymological dictionary, prospects for scientific cooperation, and issues of expanding Turkological integration were discussed.
This visit is valued as a unifying step in the scholarly space of the Turkic world and contributes to the strengthening of the common Turkic cultural and spiritual unity.
