On October 3, 2025, an awards ceremony was held for Azerbaijani universities that were included in the "QS 2026" global ranking.

According to information provided by the Ministry of Science and Education, the event was attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Education Hasan Hasanli, Director of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education Ulkar Sattarova, leadership of leading universities, including Rector of Khazar University Dr. Razia Isayeva, and Regional Director of QS agency Sergey Khristolyubov.

It should be noted that 9 universities from Azerbaijan were included in the "QS 2026" global ranking announced in June of this year for the first time. This figure increased 3-fold compared to the previous year. At the same time, the number of universities from Azerbaijan included in the aforementioned ranking is 3 times higher than the total number of universities from other South Caucasus countries included in this ranking.
