On July 5, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev, Head of the Department of Political Science and Philosophy, spoke to Milliyet.com.tr about the recent tensions between Azerbaijan and Russia. Assoc. Prof. Valiyev emphasized that Azerbaijan has become an independent actor in the region with its victory in the 44-Day Patriotic War and Russia is having difficulty accepting this new reality.
