Khazar University Political Science and Philosophy Department Head Assoc. Prof. Orkhan Valiyev joined online the "12th Annual CESRAN Conference on International Studies" held on July 5, 2025, in partnership with the International Center for Strategic Research and Analysis (CESRAN) of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, and OBSERVARE, where he both delivered a presentation and served as moderator. The conference was held from July 1-5.

Assoc. Prof. Valiyev presented a paper titled "Debating Nationalism in the South Caucasus in the Context of Integrated Nationalism" in the panel "New Nationalist Influences in Power Politics" and served as moderator in the panel "Adaptation of Warfare Instruments to the Evolving World Politics."
