Psychology Department Staff’s Article in “Azərbaycan Məktəbi” Journal

An article by Khazar University Psychology Department members, Malak Karimova and Mirsadiq Mukhtarov, has been published in the journal “Azərbaycan Məktəbi” (“Azerbaijani School”) (Issue No. 1, 2025), which is included in the list approved by the Higher Attestation Commission.

The article delves into the psychological landscape of students embarking on their university journey. Conducted during the 2024–2025 academic year at Khazar University, the research draws on data from 204 randomly selected first-year students. Utilizing the well-known “Brief Symptom Inventory”, the study presents a detailed statistical analysis across three core indices—Global Severity Index, Positive Symptom Total, and Positive Symptom Distress Index—alongside nine subscales: somatization, obsessive-compulsive tendencies, interpersonal sensitivity, depression, anxiety, hostility, phobic anxiety, paranoid ideation, and psychoticism.

The results of the research are reflected in the article.
