On December 27, 2022, a scientific and cultural event dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the birth of Azerbaijan's independence poet and nationalist Ahmad Javad, "I am a Turanian traveler", was organized by the Department of Languages and Literatures at Khazar University. The event began with the singing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan composed by U. Hajibeyli with lyrics by Ahmad Javad. The head of the Department of Languages and Literatures, Assoc. Prof. Dilbar Zeynalova, who opened the scientific panel with an introduction, welcomed the guests participating online from both Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The head of the department talked about the inclusion of Ahmet Javad's works in the list of authors whose works are declared state treasures in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 7, 2019, about the poet's connection with the literary and social environment of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Georgia, Russia and, in general, the East and Europe.
In the scientific panel, the head of Azerbaijan-Asian literary relations department of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi of ANAS, Professor Badirkhan Ahmadli spoke about the impact and innovation of Ahmad Javad in his time and later stages, and emphasized that the poet was a devotee of literature and a nation.
Samet Önder and Melike Karateke, the founders of the publishing house "Yeshil Kayin" located in Denizli, Türkiye, shared their views on the publication of Ahmet Javad's book of poems called "Uyan" at the publishing house, and pointed out that the author of the foreword of the book is Professor Ahmet Bican Ercilas.
Concluding the scientific panel, the founder of Khazar University, the chairman of the Board of Directors and Trustees, professor, academician Hamlet Isakhanli talked about the role of Ahmed Javad in the formation of the poetic style of the new period of Azerbaijani literature, and made comparisons based on specific examples.
Director of Baku Yunus Emre Institute Selchuk Karakılıch, who participated in the event, drew parallels between the works of Ahmet Javad and Mehmet Akif Ersoy, spoke about their place in the history of Turkish culture, and emphasized the importance of this event in the transmission of moral values from generation to generation.
Then the artistic part of the event called "I am a Turan traveler" began. Different poems of A.Javad were performed by the students of the university. The students' portrayal of Ahmed Javad and Mrs. Shukriya attracted the attention of the event participants. The songs composed with lyrics by A.Javad were performed by the instructor of the department Mahsati Jabbarova and a choir of students accompanied by the head of the Music and Art department, honored teacher Zulfiyya Sadighova on the piano.
At the event, an exhibition prepared by the Library Information Center of the university, consisting of books by Ahmet Javad, was demonstrated.
