Khazar University organizes a countrywide simulation on Eastern Partnership Summit
On December 14, 2022, the Political Science and Philosophy Department of Khazar University organized a countrywide simulation of the 2021 Eastern Partnership Summit.
Organized within the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet Module project, the simulation of the Eastern Partnership summit was attended by the students of the 7 Azerbaijani higher education institutions.
Previously instructed by the academic coordinators of the Erasmus+ Jean Monnet project Dr. Elmar Mustafayev and Zibar Huseynova on the roles and competencies of the EU and its institutions, the European Neighborhood Policy and the Eastern Partnership, the students were split into the roles of heads of states or governments of the member-states, the President of the European Council, as well as the leaders of the Eastern Partnership countries. The participant students were tasked with studying the position of their respective roles from the perspective of their national interest and security concerns, as well as the common European interests.
The summit of the EU and Eastern Partnership leaders discussed the renewed agenda of the Eastern Partnership, commitment of the EU to the EaP and vice versa, the economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, economic and investment plans of the EU on EaP countries’ economy, further political and economic integration of the EaP countries, institutions and good governance, energy security, and market opportunities.
The simulation of the EU-Eastern Partnership Summit was concluded with the Joint Declaration of the Eastern Partnership.
