On April 2, 2021, Khazar University's Faculty of Economics and Management held an online integrative lesson on “The Mirza Alakbar Sabir Phase in Azerbaijani Poetry” moderated by Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, a lecturer at the University's Department of Languages and Literature, and Sevda Tahirli, Associate Professor of Baku State University and the President of the M.A. Sabir Fund. The lesson was attended by senior students of the faculties of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Natural Sciences and Engineering, as well as students from Polish and Turkish universities.
Speaking about the exceptional role of M.A.Sabir's poetry in the development of Azerbaijan's artistic and public opinion, G.Azizkhanli made interesting comparisons between M.A.Sabir's poetry and the works of his great predecessors Nizami, Fuzuli, as well as examples of world literature.
S.Tahirli, the granddaughter of the great poet, made a presentation that shed light on the little-known aspects of M.A.Sabir's biography, and for the first time demonstrated a memorial belonging of the great poet to Khazar University students.
Among Khazar students, presentations by Shahin Aliyev and Elvin Mammadsalahov on M.A.Sabir poetry, speeches by Tajir Hashimov, Gunel Mammadova, Tayfun Mirzayev, Aydan Nagiyeva, Aytaj Shikhiyeva, Zarbab Nasirli and master student of the University of Warsaw Gilan Azizkhanli were listened with interest.
