On February 20, 2020, a discussion of doctoral theses topics and ongoing research was conducted at Khazar University Life Sciences Department. The meeting was attended by Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the Rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Saida Sharifova, Head of the Division of Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Asaf Omarov, Head of the Department of Life Sciences, Department’s Associate Professor Javid Ojagi, Dr. Nigar Mutalibova, PhD student’s research supervisor, Head of Microbiology and Epidemiology Department of the Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors named after Aziz Aliyev, and also Department’s doctoral students Mujan Serpoush and Mahira Guliyeva. At the meeting, PhD student of the department Mahira Guliyeva presented the theme of her research on “Comparative Study of the Biochemical and Cultural Properties of Bacteria Resistant to Antibiotics Isolated from Various Sources”. The doctoral candidate informed the participants about the relevance of the topic for the health sector, the results that will be used. After some changes introduced to the dissertation’s topic, a doctorate from the Department of Life Sciences was recommended to the Khazar University Academic Council for approval.
