On May 17, 2017, “Dialectic Festival” was held in the “Marble” hall of Khazar Unversity. The event was organized within the framework of open lesson program on the subject “Introduction to  Dialectology” of Ilahe Gurbanova, PhD in philology, instructor of the department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature. East, North, West, South, as well as Lenkeran dialect groups were represented in the festival. After opening speech of Ilahe Gurbanova, students representing each group delivered speeches, performed small scenes and showed videos reflecting the characteristics of dialects and accents of Azerbajani language. They  demonstrated samples from customs and traditions and cuisine of each dialect . In the event hosted by H. Bashirova East group was represented by M.Huseynova, F.İsgenderova, S.Mahmudzadeh, S.Aliyeva, U.Abıshova, A.Gadirova and Lenkeran group was represented by T.Ibrahimova.  M.Mammadova, F.Gaziyeva, N.Babazadeh represented North group and H.Bashirli, N.Mohubbetli, G.Hasanova, N.Mastaliyeva, A.Omerova, Z.Aliyeva represented West group. South group representers were J. Mammadov, M.İmanlı, U.Calalova, G.Dunyamalıyeva.

At the end of the event, Hamlet Isakhanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, made a speech and gave some interesting suggestions. He expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the event.
