On February 22, 2017, Khazar University Department of History and Archelogy organized an event in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Khojaly Tragedy.  Faculty and staff members participating in the event included  Hassan Niknfas, President of the University; Isakhan Isakhanli, Vice-Rector for Adminitration and Student Affairs; Alovsat Amirbayli, Media and Public Relations Director; Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology; Nasiman Yagublu , instructor for the aforementioned department; students and survivors of the tragedy. 

Participants were informed about the Khojaly tragedy, and Nasiman Yagublu presented his book Khojaly Massacre.

During the event, Seyidaga Movsumlu, eyewitness to the tragedy, shared his memories with participants; his short film about the tragedy was shown.

At the end of the event, Isakhan Isakhanli, Vice-Rector for Adminitration and Student Affairs, made a speech.
