On February 17, 2017, Rima Mammadova, coordinator of the Center for Students with Disabilities and “The Establishment of a Foundation for the Integration of Disabled People into HEIs of Azerbaijan” (ESFIDIP) Tempus project, participated in a seminar on “Opportunities for the people with physical disabilities and challenges faced by them. Inclusive education” held at the University of Languages. Rima Mammadova made a presentation on “Inclusive Education at HEIs of Azerbaijan and existing problems”.

In her presentation, she gave statistical information on children and young people with disabilities and discussed the conditions required for inclusive education at Azerbaijani universities.

She also spoke about the activities implemented within the framework of the “The Establishment of a Foundation for the Integration of Disabled People into HEIs of Azerbaijan” (ESFIDIP) project. At the end of the presentation, she addressed the challenges arising during the implementation of inclusive education and suggested ways to eliminate them.

The event was attended by representatives of various governmental and non-governmental organizations and students. ESFIDIP project partners, Azerbaijan State Economic University (Sevinj Mahsimova) and the Ministry of Education (Anar Khalafov), were also present in the meeting.
