On February 16, 2017, a routine meeting of the Khazar University Academic and Administrative Council was held. The meeting was chaired by University President Hassan Niknafs.

Items on the agenda included details of the examination session, preparations for the next semester, accreditation, awarding the title of Associate Professor to Dr. Irada Khalilova, Head of the Deaprtment of Biological Studies; and the title of Professor to Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music. Reports were given by Professor Mohammad Nuriyev, Vice President of Khazar University for Academic Affairs.

Other reports were given by Dr. Eldar Shahgaldiyev, Head of the Division for Graduate Students and Research, on the topic of on the 2017 admission results, Ph.D. dissertation topics and academic advisors; by Irada Khalilova on transferring Zuleykha Alakbarova from the speciality of Biotecnology (2422.01) to Biochemsitry (2406.02).

Decisions were made on the above topics.

Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, also spoke at the meeting; he stressed the importance of publisihng in top journals and expanding international ties.

Other current issues were also discussed at the meeting.
