On February 13, 2017, British Council Azerbaijan held a business lunch event at the Nakhchivan restaurant. The event was attended by Professor Paul Boyle, president and vice chancellor of Leicester University;  Michael Green, Director of Leicester University Strategic Partnerships Center; Dr. Carole Crofts, the ambassador of Great Britain to Azerbaijan; Elisabeth White, director of British Council Azerbaijan. Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, was among the guests of the event.

Azerbaijan-UK relations and co-operation between Azerbaijani higher educational institutions and UK universities were discussed at the event.
