On February 10, 2017, Khazar University held a press conference on “Education and Media”. The confernce was attended by the university administration, staff members, media representatives and education experts.

Elza Samadova, Dean of the School of Education, opened the event with a thorough presentation. Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, made a speech in which he spoke about the relationship between the media and higher educational institutions; stressed the media’s role in highlighting higher educational institutions’ activities. He also touched upon some existing problems – such as producing and publishing inaccurate and unsourced articles. He presented his suggestions and called attention to the possibility of organizing an international conference on “Education and Media”.

Other speeches were made by Gulu Maharramli; Niyazi Rahimov, journalist from the “Azərbaycan müəllimi”, education experts Maharram Zulfugarli, Etibar Aliyev, Malahat Murshudlu; Vurgun Eyyub, Head of the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature; they shared their opinions and suggestions.

The conference ended with discussions.
