On January 20, 2017, an article by Prof. Hamlet Isaxanli, founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees, entitled “ Koroghlu in American Poetry and Music” was published in 525^th Newspaper. In the article, Prof. Isaxanli shares his thoughts about Longfellow’s literary career, “The Leap of Roushan Beg”, the problems of collecting and recording oral literature products, two ballads by James Dear and Horatio Parker based on Longfellow’s poem as well as factual assumptions on Longfellow’s familiarity with Koroğlu Dastanı and Jafar Jabbarli’s translation of Lonfellow’s poem.
