Professor Afgan Abdullayev, who served at various times as Khazar University’s Rector Assistant, Department Chair and Dean, became Vice Rector for Academic Affairs of Azerbaijan University of Languages in September and then Acting Rector of the university in December. 

Professor Abdullayev completed his bachelor’s at Azerbaijan University of Languages. He completed his master’s degree at Minnesota University, USA, in 1995-1999. He was admitted to the Nasimi Linguistics Institute of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 1999 where he completed his doctoral studies. He also visited Harvard and Florida International Universities in the USA in the early 2000s.

A. Abdullayev is the author of 6 textbooks and over 100 scholarly articles.
