On December 16, 2016, Dr. Khatira Yusifova, instructor in the Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature at Khazar University, took the students of her “Ancient Alphabet” class on a field trip to the Mahammad Fuzuli Manuscripts Institute of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The students were very interested to see concrete examples of what their teacher explained in lectures.
The students had the opportunity to view works in Turkish, Arabic and Persian languages from the Near East and Middle East, Azerbaijan, and countries of North Africa relating to the sciences and cultures of ethnic groups in those locations. They also saw personal documents of well-known people of science and arts of the 19th and 20th centuries, old printed books, and newspapers and journals of the last century on microfilm and in photographs.
