Another “Accessible Education- Accessible Future” Training at Khazar

On December 9-10, 2016, a training event called “Accessible Education- Accessible Future” was held with the support of the Youth Foundation of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Y-PEER Azerbaijani network and Khazar University’s Center for Students with Disabilities.

The main goal of the training was to inform participants about inclusive education as well as correct pedagogical approaches for working with students with disabilities.

Participants in the training included young people aged 18-25 who are interested in being trainers or educators in the future, and who want to learn more about new approaches and skills for working with children who have disabilities.

The training included various games and skits to help participants understand how people with disabilities feel and how to relate to them. The training was led by Rima Mammadova, project manager of the “Establishment of a Foundation for the Integration of Disabled People into HEIs of Azerbaijan” (ESFIDIP) TEMPUS project and coordinator of the Center for Students with Disabilities, who also gave information about the project.

At the end of the training, participants were given certificates.
