On December 8, a concert featuring the works of well-known composer, Secretary of Azerbaijan Composers’ Union, Meritorious Servant of Arts Sardar Farajov was held at the Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Organ and Chamber Music Hall. Participants at the event included People’s Artist Firengiz Alizadeh, Chairman of the Composer’s Union; Professor Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees; university staff members and students; and media representatives.
During the first half of the concert, the Khazar University Chamber Orchestra (Artistic Director- Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts; concertmaster Nasrin Rzayeva) performed chamber pieces by the composer, and Meritorious Artist Farida Mammadova performed his “Two Sketches” composed based on lyrics by Hamlet Isaxanli.
In the second half of the concert, the composer’s pieces were performed by the State String Quartet, the State Trio and the Youth Quartet. Young soloists of the Children’s Philharmonic and the “Shams” Chior also performed pieces that Farajov wrote for children.
At the end of the event, Farajov thanked the concert participants and organizers, especially the administration of Khazar University and its musicians.
