On November 30^th, 2016, Dr. Seyyed Alireza Tabatabaei, Director of Sahand Oil and Gas Research Institute in Tabriz, Iran, gave a lecture for Khazar University bachelor, master and doctorate students majoring in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering in the School of Engineering and Applied Science in the university’s Marble Hall. Dr. Tabatabaei graduated from Pennsylvania State University and completed his PhD at Heriot-Watt University. He worked for 25 years in the petroleum industry as a reservoir engineer, and wrote about 150 technical papers.

The topic of his lecture for students was "An Overview on Enhanced Oil Recovery Methods.” After the lecture, Dr. Tabatabaei answered students' questions.

Dr. Hasan Niknafs, President of the University, and Associate Professor Gasham Zeynalov, Head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering also participated in the lecture.
