On November 28, 2016, Hassan Niknafs, Acting Dean of School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and Rasul Muradi, Coordinator of the Chemistry Department, met with Phil Wright, Head Manager of the Milla Company. The objective of the meeting was to establish partnership with Milla and broaden possibilities in this sphere.

The Khazar representatives obtained permission to bring chemistry students on a one-day tour of the Milla plant so they could observe equipment like the bioreactor and heat exchanger as well as to bring mechanical engineering students to the plant so they could observe the processes of extrusion and casting. In addition, plans were made for chemical engineering majors to come for summer internships at Milla and for and plant’s R&D manager to give seminars at Khazar University. The importance of continuing to develop this partnership was emphasized.
