In November 2016, an article entitled “Social Content in Azerbaijani Patriotic Lyrics of the Late 20th Century” by Gardashkhan Azizkhanli, instructor for the Khazar University Department of Azerbaijani Language and Literature, was published in the Philology Issues journal (volume 8) published by the Fuzuli Manuscripts Institute of the Azerbaijan Republic Academy of Sciences. The article calls attention to the roles of M. Araz, S. Tahir and M. Ismayil in the formation of national ideology, preservation of national values and prevention of moral degradation.
