On November 1, 2016, the 70th birthday of Rais Rasulzadeh was celebrated at the International Press Center. Participants included Rasulzadeh’s counterparts, former fellow students, Members of Parliament, and representatives of scholarly and literary society as well as Khazar University students.
Doctor of History Nasiman Yagublu, instructor in the Khazar University Department of History and Archeology, opened the event with information about R. Rasulzadeh’s life and works. He also described his visit with Azer Rasuladeh, Rais’s father and the son of Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh. Members of Parliament Rafael Huseynov, Fazil Mustafa, and Vahid Ahmadov congratulated the artist on his birthday and wished him long life and creative success.
Gamar Seyfaddingizi, granddaughter of great playwright Jafar Jabbarli, spoke about the family friendship of Jafar Jabbarli and Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh.
Noteworthy speeches were also made by Najiba Baghirzadeh, journalist and researcher of Rasulzadeh’s legacy; and poet Teyyub Gurban, who first found Rasulzadeh in the city of Karakanda, Kazakhstan. Gurban gave Rasulzadeh a copy of a book he had dedicated to Mammad Amin Rasulzadeh.
Khazar University students majoring in history also congratulated Rasulzadeh and presented a gift to him.
At the end of the event, Rasulzadeh thanked the event participants and organizers.
