Ravan Rahimov, instructor of Khazar University’s School of Education and scholar of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, successfully defended his doctoral dissertation. He has distinguished himself among young scholars Azerbaijan for his unique knowledge, skills and academic contributions.
Ravan Abdullatif oghlu Rahimov was born in the Galajic village of Ismayilli on June 28, 1980. He finished high school there in 1997. Then he attended Baku State University, where he studied chemistry, completing his bachelor’s degree in 2001. He began his master’s the same year and earned his degree (with honors) in high-molecular compounds in 2003.
He began working in the surface-active substances and preparations laboratory of ANAS in 2002. In 2003, he began working on his PhD at the Petroleum Chemistry Processes Institute, and he earned his PhD in Chemistry in 2007 when he defended his dissertation on “Development and research on reagents hindering the evaporation of benzene based on propylene oxide and polyatomic alcohols.”
In 2011, Rahimov began working on his doctoral degree in Petroleum Chemistry.
On October 21, 2016, R. Rahimov successfully defended his doctoral dissertation on “Synthesis and research on new surface-active substances based on natural triglycerides, (alkanol) amines and (C3) epoxides.” He was recommended for a doctoral degree by the Specialized Board.
Rahimov has co-authored over 130 works. Over 65 of them are articles, and 3 are patents in the Azerbaijan Republic. Over 30 of his articles have been published abroad (Germany, England, Ukraine, Korea, USA, Japan, Malaysia, Ethiopia, Russia, and reputable journals published by Elsevier, Springer and Taylor & Francis as well as 15 journals indexed by Thomson Reuters).
