On June 16, 2016 a ceremony was held at Khazar University to mark the 25th anniversary of the university. The university administration and employees, guests participated in the ceremony.  The ceremony started with the demonstration of the documentary made by Multimedia Center about the history and achievments  of Khazar University. Then, Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees made a speech. In his speech Hamlet  Isaxanli looked back the way Khazar Vuniversity has passed since its establishment and spoke about the challenges, achievments and  future goals of the university. He also noted that, Khazar University ranked 68th according to the annual ranking released by QS in Emerging Europe and Central Asia for 2016, being the first among the Azebaijan universities. The names of the employees who worked at Khazar University for more than 20 years  were annouced and the  participants were awarded with gratitude. The gratitudes were presented by Hamlet Isaxanli, the founder of Khazar University and Chairman of its Board of Directors and Trustees and Dr. Hasan Niknafs, President of the University.

According to the Academic Council`s  decision Hamlet Isakhanli was awarded with special gratitude and it was presented by Hasan Niknafs. A slide- show made by Multimedia center about those who were awarded was demonstrated. On behalf of the awarded, Associate Professor Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology, Firangiz Nasirova, Lydia Hamidova Senior Instructors of the Department of English Language and Literature made speeches. They  spoke about the first years of Khazar University and shared their memories.  Marufa Madatli, the director of “Dunya” Schooladressed good wishes to universite and presented gifts.  The ceremony was accompanied with the concert organized by Associate Professor Zulfiyya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts. Mashati Jabbarova, voice coach of the university, soloist of Muslum Magomayev Azerbaijan State Philharmonic and Meritorious Artist Fərid Əliyev, soloist of Azerbaijan State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre performed different songs. The newly established university choir of teachers and employees performed for the first time. The ceremony came to an end with cutting the holiday cake.
