On May 4, 2016, the 3rd National Spaghetti Bridge Competition was held at Khazar University with the coordination of the Civil Engineering Department. 

Three teams from Khazar University and Baku Higher Oil School competed against each other. Their original spaghetti bridges had been accepted by the judging committee the day before the competition.

The maximum loading capacity of bridges was measured by loading them until their breaking point. The winner was selected based on the ratio of the maximum load that the bridge held to the weight of the bridge. The winning bridge was Action from Khazar University with a ratio of 24.
