On May 8, 2016, instructors of the Khazar University School of Education took their history education major students on an academic tour of Gobustan, an important piece of the historical and cultural landscape of Azerbaijan. This field trip included both a lecture and a tour, and its objective was to lay a practical foundation for students of the Introduction to Archeology class. The trip was organized by Associate Professor Roza Arazova, Head of the Department of History and Archeology. Instructor Orkhan Zamanov and Julia Krajcarz, independent researcher from Poland, also participated in the trip. The suitable weather for the excursion and the students’ high level of interest in the practical lesson were especially notable. Additional trips are being planned for the future because of the significance for students of visiting the Gobustan National Historical and Artistic Reserve.
