In the field of languages, the Department has produced a range of research projects embracing mainly Arabic, Persian, Turkish, German, Spanish, French and Italian and is currently working on developing research projects on Chinese, Japanese and Korean.

In the area of civilization studies, the Department aims to study civilizations from historical, philosophical, social and cultural perspectives. Within this framework the Department is planning a range of research projects on historical periods of various civilizations, as well as intercultural/inter-religious relations, cultural and religious diversity, and dialogue between civilizations.
