She is investigating the genetics of phenylketonuria in newborn infants in Azerbaijan.

Parvana Bakhshaliyeva received her MD (Medical Doctor) degree from Azerbaijan Medical University (1997). She has participated in physicians’ training programs focused on health at Advanced Training Institute for Physicians, Baku, Azerbaijan (2003, 2011).  Currently she is a PhD student and an instructor in department of Biological Sciences at Khazar University, Azerbaijan. She is teaching Life Science course (BIO 315) for the Khazar University students.
