Exchange among Khazar University and Turkish Universities in the 2018-2019 academic year for both students and lecturers is now open.

Mevlana Exchange Programme

Mevlana Exchange Programme is a programme which aims at the exchange of students and academic staff between Turkish higher education institutions and higher education institutions of other countries. Azerbaijani students may study in Turkey for one (minimum) or two (maximum) terms and academic staff may lecture abroad from one week (minimum) to three months (maximum).

What does Mevlana mean?

The programme is named after worldly renowned poet and thinker Mevlana Muhammed Celaleddin. He is known as Rumi in the West. Mevlana lived in the 13th century, but as a Sufi who got beyond the ages with his works, did not make any discrimination between people as indicated in his verse "Come, come whoever you are." His mercy, voluntary and unlimited humanity, endless tolerance impressed not only the world of Islam but also the whole humanity. The 800th anniversary of Mevlana's birth in 2007 was declared by UNESCO as the year of Rumi.

Application Requirements for the Programme

For Students:

•  Students should be studying at associate degree, bachelor degree, master degree or PhD degree of higher education programmes
•  Grade point average (GPA) of associate degree and undergraduate students must be at least 2,5 on a 4 point scale.
•  Grade point average (GPA) of graduate students (MA, PhD) must be at least 3.00 on a 4 point scale.
•  50% language score + 50% GPA

The students studying in their first year at associate or bachelor degree and the students of preparation classes and scientific preparation programmes of graduate degrees cannot participate in this programme at their first semester. 

For Academic Staff:

• The academic staff must have not participated in Mevlana Exchange Programme before.
• Sufficient language skills.

5. Language Certificate (from the Department of English Language and Literature of Khazar University or IELTS, TOEFL)

For academic staff:

4. List of publications or projects on the subject that he/she wants to work in the host university

5. Work plan of the seminar
