Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts Zulfiyya Sadigova Shukur gizi was born in Baku. She finished the Music School named after Bulbul with a silver medal in 1990, then earned an honors diploma from the Baku Music Academy named after U. Hajibeyov in 1995 and completed graduate studies at the same Academy in 1998.Zulfiyya Sadigova won a first-place certificate in the “Young Musicians” contest in 1990 and was the national and city winner that year. She won the following awards: a certificate at the “4th Student and Graduate Student Academic Performance Conference” in 1994, a certificate for creative activity in the National Competition for Performers of National Musical Instruments named after famous Mirza Sadig Asadoghlu (Sadikjan) in 1997, a special certificate at the “Issik-Chol Stars” international classical festival held in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan in 2002, and certificates by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation of the Azerbaijan Republic for her participation and performances at celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev’s birth and the 100th anniversary of Mir Jalal Pashayev’s birth. In May of 2011, she was awarded a certificate by the administration of Khazar University for her successful pedagogical activity in training high-quality specialists. She gave several solo concerts with the accompaniment of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra named after U. Hajibeyov and the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic’s Orchestra of National Musical Instruments named after Muslum Magomayev.She won ribbons and made many solo performances accompanied by the Azerbaijan State Teleradio Broadcasting Company’s Folk Instruments Orchestra named after Sayid Rustamov and the Symphony Orchestra named after Niyazi.She gave a solo concert in 1993 at the Azerbaijan State Art Museum.In 1996 she gave a performance with the accompaniment of the Symphony Orchestra of the Azerbaijan State Opera and Ballet Theater’s named after M. F. Akhundov at an event to celebrate the 70th birthday of well-known pianist Farida Guliyeva, coordinated by Azerbaijan People’s Artist Professor Rauf Abdullayev.In 2000, she gave a solo concert at the German Cultural Center upon the invitation of the German ambassador to Azerbaijan.In 2002, she performed a solo with the accompaniment of folk instruments of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic at an event coordinated by the Ministry of Culture in honor of the birthday of our great composer Fikrat Amirov.On December 26, 2008, she gave a solo concert at the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic named after Muslum Magomayev with the accompaniment of the Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after U. Hajibeyov under the direction of Azerbaijan People’s Artist Prof. Rauf Abdullayev. This performance was also a presentation of her CD album.In 1991, Zulfiyya Sadigova gave a solo concert in the Kazakhstan State Conservatory’s chamber hall in Almaty, the Republic of Kazakhstan.In 1997, she participated along with the official group of representatives in the jubilee celebration for world-famous singer Muslum Magomayev in Moscow. In the same year, she also participated in the jubilee celebration in London, the capital of Great Britain and the Kingdom of Northern Ireland, for well-known composer Tofig Guliyev.In 1998 she gave several performances at concerts for Azerbaijan Cultural Days in London.She participated in international festivals in Norway both in 2001 in the city of Stovanger and in 2002 in the city of Bogen.In 2003, she gave performances in concerts in the Islamic Republic of Iran in the cities of Tehran, Tabriz, and Kirvanshah. In 2004 she performed in the concert hall named after S. Rachmaninov in Moscow under the direction of USSR People’s Artist Murat Kazhlayev at an evening dedicated to Heydar Aliyev.In 2006, she participated in an event in celebration of the independence of the Azerbaijan Republic held in the city of Tbilisi in the Republic of Georgia.In 2007, she gave a solo concert in Tbilisi organized by the Embassy of the Azerbaijan Republic.In 2008, she performed in a concert entitled “Baku Nights” in the city of Makhachkala in Dagestan.In 2008, she performed in Jubilee celebrations organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in honor of Heydar Aliyev’s 80th and Mir Jalal Pashayev’s 100th birthdays in the city of Bishkek in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.In November of 2008, she participated in an international festival in Yekaterinburg, Russia.In 2009, she gave a solo concert at an international festival dedicated to the opening of a music school named after Murad Kozhlayev in Makhachkala, Republic of Dagestan.In May of 2011, she performed with a solo program in the Akademia Nazionale di Sonto Cecilia Concert Hall in Rome, Italy.On November 9, 2011, she gave solo concerts in Italy’s cities of Cherveteri and Rome.In April of 2012, she participated in Azerbaijani cultural days in the Italian cities of Rome, Venice, Milan and Turino as organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Azerbaijani Embassy to Italy and the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture and Tourism.On 9 May 2013 she performed a solo concert in France. On March 7, 2014, she performed solo concerts in London, UK.Zulfiyya Sadigova is also active in education. At present, she is working as the head of the Department of Music and Arts at Khazar University.In May of 2011-2012, she staged a full performance of genius composer Fikrat Amirov’s opera Sevil with Khazar University students performing.
