On May 4, 2021, the first meeting of the Erasmus+ ECAR (Establishment of Rectors Conference in Azerbaijan) project, to which Khazar University is a partner, was held. The project coordinator is Baku Business University, and in addition to the Azerbaijani universities named in the project there are 15 universities including Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Baku Engineering University, Baku Higher Oil School, Baku Eurasia University, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Lankaran State University, Azerbaijan University of Culture and Arts, Nakhchivan University, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Azerbaijan Technical University, Azerbaijan Technological University, Azerbaijan University and “Odlar Yurdu” University. Associations of universities and rectors from Poland, Belgium, France, Sweden and Lithuania are also partners in the project.
Along with the rectors and staff of the project partners, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Firudin Gurbanov, Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas, Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Rafał Poborski, French Ambassador to Azerbaijan Zacharie Gross, Lithuanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Egidijus Navikas, Head of the Azerbaijan National Erasmus Office Parviz Bagirov attended the meeting.
The meeting began with a speech by the Rector of Baku Business University, Prof. Ibad Abbasov, and continued with presentations and speeches by other speakers. Rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, greeted the guests and wished success to all partners in the project. In the meeting Khazar University was also represented by Raziya Isayeva, Director of the Development Center, and Ulkar Bayramova, Director of the Teaching and Learning Center.
It should be noted that the main purpose of the three-year project is to strengthen the joint activities of universities by creating the Association of Azerbaijani Universities. The project will continue on May 5-6 and the work envisaged in the project will be discussed, and a plan of work for the next six months will be determined.
