The rapid changes in the modern world significantly increase the importance of global thinking. One of the most effective strategies is to follow the rapid dynamics of education and to develop accordingly at a time when information is expanding, in other words, integration is one of the unique indicators on quality of the modern educational process. The national curriculum pays special attention to interdisciplinary integration in education. In this regard, Department of Languages and Literature of Khazar University has launched the "Integrative Lesson" project.
On December 23, 2020, an integrative lesson was held on “Tsar Oedipus’ “Sophocle’s tragedy” and its artistic transformation in world literature: in the context of comparative literature”.
The lesson was moderated by teachers of the Department of Languages and Literature, Gardashkhan Azizkhanli and Ulvi Babasoy. Associate Professor Elza Samedli, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, appreciated the organization of integrative lessons, stressed the role of students in the formation of worldview, the realization of general learning outcomes.
Head of the Department of Languages and Literature, Associate Professor Dilbar Zeynalova noted the importance of the synthesis of common knowledge and skills to increase the effectiveness of the learning process. Lecturers of the Department of Languages and Literature, Ph.D. Khatira Yusifova, Ph.D. Elmira Mammadova, Ph.D. Gulshana Khudiyeva and Shalala Mirzayeva also attended at the class. Students Laman Abbasova, Turkan Mursalova, Gulshan Hatamli, Gultaj Gulaliyeva, Ilkana Ibrahimbeyli, Imamali Ibrahimov, Flora Asgarli, Aydan Nagiyeva and others expressed their views on the subject from various aspects. Conducting the lesson in an integrative and interactive format aroused great interest on the topic.
