On October 26, the first meeting of the Khazar University’s Academic Council for the new academic year was held. Opening the meeting, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the Rector of the University, as the first issue on the agenda, suggested that Saida Sharifova (PhD in Biology), be elected the Secretary of the Academic Council. Council members supported the proposal.
On the second issue of the agenda, Elza Samadova, the Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences, Fakhranda Alimardanova, Acting Dean of the School of Sciences and Engineering, and Jeyhun Mammadov, the Dean of the School of Economics and Management, presented information about the graduates.
The third issue related to the approval of dissertation topics and supervisors of masters of the Department of English Language and Literature was brought to the attention of the Council’s members by Dr. Bahman Amani, the Head of the Department, who delivered the presentation. The fourth issue related to the theses of the doctoral students, approval of scientific supervisors, change of majors and form of education was presented for discussion by Saida Sharifova, the Dean of the Graduate School of Sciences, Arts and Technology.
In connection with the discussion of the fifth issue on the publication of the textbook “Fundamentals of Veterinary Epidemiology”, Doctor of Philosophy in Agrarian Sciences Asaf Omarov informed the members of the Council about the main purpose of the textbook, its topics, reviews, etc.
Relevant decisions were made on the issues discussed.
During the discussion of current issues, proposals were made regarding the organization of education during pandemics and emergencies, and it was decided to summarize them and re-submit them for further discussion.
