On February 10, 2020, Presentation of the Book on “Fuzzy Logic Theory and Applications”, jointly written by Professor Rafig Aliyev, corresponding member of ANAS, and genius Lotfi Zadeh, which was published abroad, was held at Khazar University's Marble Hall. The event was attended by University leadership and staff, well-known scientists and cultural figures of the country.
Delivering her opening statement Associate Professor Irada Khalilova, the Rector of Khazar University, welcomed the guests. The speaker of the event, Doctor of Philology, Professor Gulu Maharramli in his speech spoke about the close cooperation of Professor Rafig Aliyev with Lotfi Zadeh and the great interest and importance of the book which has been created as a result of this cooperation.
Then there was a documentary films that included the life and activity of Professor Aliyev, the views of Lotfi Zadeh about the Professor, and the slides with the words of the famous scholars from different countries of the world about Professor Rafig Aliyev were also demonstrated during the event.
The following Speakers of the event delivered speeches, talking about different aspects of Professor Rafig Aliyev’s scientific activity – Doctor Akif Alizade, PhD in Technical Sciences; Academician Akif Musayev (ANAS, Economist); Professor Rafig Mehdiyev, PhD in Technical Sciences (Istanbul Technical University); Journalist Elmin Nuri (edu.az website, science populist); Poet and Publicist Rafail Taghizade (compiler of the book “Su kimi sakit ve gujlu” (Quiet and Powerful as Water)), People's Poet Ramiz Rovshan; Playwriter Ali Amirli; and Rafig Aliyev’s grandson, Durham University (BSc), and Warwick University (MSc) alumnus - Rafig Aliyev.
There was also a discussion about the book “Quiet and Powerful as Water”, dedicated to Professor Rafig Aliyev. This collection includes articles written by the scientist over the years, interviews with the press and articles written about him.
At the end of the event, Professor Rafig Aliyev thanked Khazar University Leadership, the organizers and participants of the event.
The participants were presented a concert of the University's Chamber Orchestra, at the beginning of the event, led by Zulfiya Sadigova, Head of the Department of Music and Fine Arts at Khazar University, honored teacher and pianist.
