In November and December, air quality measurements were carried out by students at 14 points in Baku and twice at each station.
Compared to November, there was a sharp deterioration in air quality in December. Whereas in November the metro stations “Ganjlik”, “Ahmedli” and “Icheri Sheher” could be regarded as the most polluted, in December this level could be attributed to all of the stations.
The most severe pollutants, as before, were TVOC (Volatile Organic Compounds) and NO2, as for the major pollution sources, as previously, were the cars (especially large buses).
