On May 20, 2019 Khazar University hosted ERASMUS+ Networking Conference organized jointly with National ERASMUS+ Office. 8 ERASMUS + Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) projects implemented in Azerbaijani universities were presented during the meeting. Universities introduced project’s aims and goals, consortium members and demonstrated achievements up to date. Over 45 representatives from more than 13 Azerbaijani Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) contributed to the lively discussion around the challenges each project faces while being implemented.
In an opening statement, Razia Isayeva, Director of Development, Khazar University, Higher Education Reform Expert, ERASMUS+ provided some facts and figures about participation of Azerbaijani HEIs in the ERASMUS+ program. She also introduced the comparison of Azerbaijani HEIs with the HEIs of Eastern Partnership Countries
Rector of Khazar University, Associate Professor Irada Khalilova made a welcoming speech on the importance of ERASMUS+ CBHE projects and experience Khazar has with the projects. Head of the National ERASMUS+ Office of Azerbaijan, Mr. Parviz Baghirov talked about the opportunities ERASMUS+ projects bring, and the way Azerbaijani Universities can increase their participation in the programme.
Detailed information on EQAC, PETRA, AESOP, PAWER, IPED, MEDIATES, NIZAMI, MAGNUS, PROMIG ERASMUS+ CBHE projects were presented during the Conference. Each project also demonstrated their posters. During the Q&A session of the project university representatives agreed to hold series of seminars and conferences on the dissemination of project results to help other universities to benefit and learn for further implications of the project results.
