On May 16, 2019, a preliminary discussion of the scientific research work on “The Art as a Social Event: Philosophical Approach” by Melek Kerimova, the PhD candidate was held at Khazar University. Jabir Mammadli, the Coordinator of the Division of Graduate Studies and Research, in his opening statement provided a detailed information about the doctoral student’s research activity and the documents submitted. Following that, the doctoral candidate gave a detailed information about her scientific work, particularly about the significance and relevance of the research work, its scientific novelty, goals and objectives, approbation, structure and a brief content.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Roida Rzayeva, the employee of the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS; Dr. Jeyhun Aliyev, Instructor of the Department of Psychology at the Azerbaijan University of Languages; Associate Professor Elza Samedova, Dean of the School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Valida Kerimova, (PhD candidate) Vice-Dean School of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences; Dr. Elmar Mustafayev, Head of the Political Science and Philosophy Department; instructors from the same Department - Dr. Vasif Huseynov, Dr. Anar Jafarov, Tural Huseynli; instructors from the Department of Psychology – Dr. Laman Verdiyeva and Tahmasib Javadzade; Jabir Mammadli, the Coordinator of the Division of Graduate Studies and Research; Aygun Aliyeva, staff member of the Political Science and Philosophy Department; Ruslan Khalilov, PhD student at Khazar University; Dr. Zemina Ziyayeva. After the detailed information about the doctoral work was given, the questions session took place and discussions were held.
Finally, it was agreed that the doctoral thesis meets the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission and decided to pass it to the next stage for the candidate to obtain PhD degree in Philosophy.
