On April 23- 30, 2017, Khazar University became one of the two Universities which sponsored the 31st EFPSA Congress organised in Azerbaijan. The other sponsors of the Congress are large institutions such as Turkish Airlines, ASAN Service, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation.
EFPSA-is a pan-European organization that brings together students and young specialists majoring in psychology in Europe. More than 300 young psychologists and professor-teacher staff from 33 countries participate in the annual EFPSA Congress which is the biggest event of the Federation. The main theme of the 31st EFPSA Congress organized in Gakh was “Modern humanity”. Topics such as psychological atmosphere caused by war and terrors, psychological challenges resulted from cultural differences, human psychology in technological development and so on were covered in the congress. Jamie Hacker Hughes, Vice President of the British Psychological Society; Robertas Povilaitis, Secretary General and Vice President of EFPSA, Rauf Garagozov, Researcher of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Art Franken, PhD in Psychology at the University of Utrecht in the Netherlands; Veronica Nurkova, professor at Moscow State University; Ceren Acarturk, professor at Istanbul City University and others delivered lectures on the above mentioned topics. Students majoring in Psychology at Khazar University also participated in the Congress.
